Major Responsibilities
Mainly, you will be responsible for the donor histories,
venipunctures, and collection of the blood. Approve
donor eligibility and promote good donor care during
the collection of blood units in accordance with the
American Red Cross Blood Services directives, the Code
of Federal Regulations (CFR) and local policies and
procedures. Demonstrate excellence in customer service
and public relations to promote a positive, professional
image of the Red Cross. Train paid and volunteer staff
as needed and perform competency assessments as instructed
to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Work
independently with attention to detail while functioning
as a member of a team to ensure smooth and efficient
collection process.
Qualifications
RN/LPN with current state licensure. Effective communication
and public relations skills.

assisting the nursing staff in the collection
and storage of blood, maintaining inventory
of supplies, and providing light maintenance
of the truck and equipment. Travel to blood
drives within Blackhawk county and surrounding
communities. Position may include some weekend
hours along with weekdays.
Qualifications: a High school diploma or
equivalent, ability to move heavy equipment
of up to 100 lbs, valid driver’s license,
and must satisfy all Federal DOT qualifications.
