BLOOD COLLECTION SPECIALIST (RN or LPN)
Madison- Full-time

Must be able to travel overnight and adapt to varied schedules. Major Responsibilities
Mainly, you will be responsible for the donor histories, venipunctures, and collection of the blood. Approve donor eligibility and promote good donor care during the collection of blood units in accordance with the American Red Cross Blood Services directives, the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and local policies and procedures. Demonstrate excellence in customer service and public relations to promote a positive, professional image of the Red Cross. Train paid and volunteer staff as needed and perform competency assessments as instructed to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Work independently with attention to detail while functioning as a member of a team to ensure smooth and efficient collection process.

Qualifications
RN/LPN with current state licensure. Effective communication and public relations skills.

Process Improvement Specialist

Responsibilities: Enters problems into DTS as appropriate and coordinates investigation. Tracks problems within the department, region, or system as appropriate. Monitors the effectiveness of corrective actions and effectiveness checks as appropriate. Participates in operations meetings for review of quality and process concerns; identifies, participates and offers solutions in areas for process improvement.

Participates in completion and processing of other daily compliance activities as directed.

Identifies quality issues, opportunities for standardization and/or process improvements and communicates on a timely basis to appropriate management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in applicable field of study or equivalent job experience. At least one year of experience in a GMP environment such as blood banking, pharmaceutical, medical devices or a hospital. Knowledge of federal regulatory requirements. Analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated effective verbal and written skills. Must be pro-active, self-motivated and have strong collaborative abilities. Must display tact, diplomacy and professionalism in difficult situations. Must protect the confidentiality of sensitive information.

Equipment Technician

Responsibilities: Maintains, repairs, performs preventative maintenance and executes validations on all types of biomedical equipment including centrifuges, agitators, sealers, tube welders, freezer and refrigerators ensuring that the equipment functions properly and documentation is maintained that indicates the equipment can be used in the manufacture, collection, storage or distribution of blood products.

Qualifications:

Mobile Unit Assistant II (Driver)

Responsibilities: Driving the bloodmobile truck to and from the blood collection site, setting up the equipment, assisting the nursing staff in the collection and storage of blood, maintaining inventory of supplies, and providing light maintenance of the truck and equipment. Travel to blood drives within Blackhawk county and surrounding communities. Position may include some weekend hours along with weekdays.

Qualifications: a High school diploma or equivalent, ability to move heavy equipment of up to 100 lbs, valid driver’s license, and must satisfy all Federal DOT qualifications. Previous truck driving experience is preferred.

Represent organization at local/regional events within territory, manning exhibits and professionally promote the American Red Cross services at churches, community centers, and service clubs. Identify and coordinate with media contacts to promote blood drives. Monitor relationships between sponsors and Regional Blood Centers to ensure quality service is maintained consistent with ARCBHR standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent sales experience is required. If lacking degree or certification, additional relevant experience required with proven sales record.
  • Two to five years sales experience
  • Poised and professional in self-presentation
  • Understanding of business principles to manage a territory; analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Independence and initiative to manage a territory with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess strong customer service and personal relationship skills.
  • Proficient in windows based environment; specifically MS Office, database management and web navigation.
